𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 VVSEAI 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺: Rohit Agarwal

We're excited to share our "𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 VVSEAI 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺" series to introduce the wonderful, multi-faceted talent we have in the Vertex Ventures SEA & India! For the month of June, we would like to introduce our colleague Rohit Agarwal based in India.

1.What did you do before Vertex and what did you study?

I'm a licensed Chartered Accountant in India with around 10 years of experience at Ernst & Young, Grant Thornton, and BDO, focusing on statutory audit and consulting across multiple sectors.

I later joined TruKKer, a fast-growing tech-logistics platform based in Dubai, at the Series A stage to set up their Finance GCC in India. As the company expanded to over 10 countries across MENA, Europe, and Eurasia, I scaled the finance function to support global operations, including pre-IPO due diligence.

Most recently, at BeepKart, a full-stack U2W platform, I was part of the senior management team, leading finance transformation through tech integration to drive efficiency and governance. I also supported the bridge round and managed debt financing.

2. What are the things you most enjoy about working at Vertex SEA & India?

Vertex offers a uniquely enriching environment with its diverse, multicultural team. The warmth, openness, and willingness of people to support one another make it a truly welcoming place. Having previously been on the other side of the table during fundraises, being part of the investment team now gives me valuable insight into the commercial rationale and perspective behind deals—deepening my learning and sharpening my skills.

3. Tell us something we didn't know that you do outside of work.

Outside of work, I enjoy cooking—especially Indian and Italian cuisine—and spending quality time with my 4-year-old daughter. Lately, I’ve also been focusing on staying active by hitting my goal of 10,000 steps a day.
