Beware of Fraudulent Recruitment Scams
We have been alerted to a scam involving the impersonation of Vertex Ventures SEA & India in fraudulent recruitment and job offers.
Individuals falsely representing themselves as recruiters or representatives of Vertex have been approaching members of the public by email, offering employment opportunities that do not exist. The recent case we are aware of is as follows.
A person using the name "Solange Corton" of "Excellent Recruiting I GS RH" contacted individuals by email, under the subject line "Confidential Executive Search Leadership Opportunity | Venture Capital & Fund Investment", to offer a "Senior Venture Capital Investment Director" position at Vertex Ventures. No such position exists.
In schemes of this kind, the impersonators typically use fabricated names, firms and job titles, and communicate from personal email accounts rather than official Vertex channels. They may decline live conversations, send detailed role briefs with attractive compensation packages, and request resumes, salary expectations, personal particulars, financial details or payment.
This is a scam and is not associated with Vertex Ventures SEA & India. The individual named above is not an employee of, and is not authorised to represent, Vertex.
Vertex does not solicit job applications through personal email accounts or encrypted messaging applications, and does not request payment or sensitive financial information as part of any recruitment process. Legitimate Vertex correspondence is sent from official Vertex email addresses, and our team members are listed on our official website.
