Bangalore-based Threado, the command center for community builders, announced its seed round of $3.1 Million and the public launch of its product. The seed round was led by Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia and India with participation from Gemba Capital, Speciale Invest, and PointOne Capital.

The round also saw participation from angel investors such as Deepinder Goyal, Founder & CEO of Zomato, Pankaj Chaddah, Co-founder Mindhouse and Zomato, Krish Subramanian and Rajaraman Santhanam, Cofounders of Chargebee, Abhishek Goyal, Co-founder & CEO of Tracxn, Aneesh Reddy, Co-founder & CEO of Capillary Technologies and several other marquee angels.

The company plans to utilise the funds to strengthen their team, double down on the product and accelerate traction in the North American market.

Threado was founded in 2020 by Pramod Rao and Abhishek Nalin. Before Threado, Pramod was one of the earliest employees and VP of Marketing at Zomato for 8+ years. With Threado, Pramod and Abhishek want to empower and champion community builders and are on a mission to help millions of businesses grow through the power of community.

“In a world where products are commoditized, building a community is a core differentiator. But building and scaling a community is hard. Our goal is to make it super easy for businesses to engage with their customers and grow through the power of community.” said Pramod Rao, Co-founder and CEO of Threado.

Threado provides an actionable dashboard to businesses and creators that manage their online communities on Slack, Discord, Discourse, Twitter or GitHub. “Threado’s helps you save time and activate more members in your community by providing you detailed insights and helping you automate your operational tasks with ease.” added Pramod.

Threado is currently being used by over 200+ communities with 1 Million+ members. Customers include On Deck, Glide Apps, StartUp Grind, Ultrahuman, Appsmith, Rocketlane, Scaler Academy, FamPay, amongst many other fast-growing companies. Over the next 12 months, Threado plans to increase their customer base to 3000+ community-led companies.

“The role of a community has changed in today’s world, and will have a lasting impact on how organisations scale and sustain. Companies embracing communities as a core way of engaging with current and potential customers and the execution capability of the team is what drove our investment in Threado. Threado is out of closed beta and delivers a community management experience 10x better than any alternatives in the market today.” said Piyush Kharbanda, General Partner at Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India.
